   Any ideas where I can get free photographs to use in my hubs apart from my own that is?
   
   Having spent many hours trying to perfect my 90+ hubs ensuring each box is ticked in the QA section but now find a new message in the style box that tells me I am using Google images in my hubs and that I should only use images that are legal.  Sometimes the hub needs a searched for image relating to the subject.  I am a writer.  I only want to write but each hub now requires a minimum of 3 photo's, a poll or two and/or videos...  I am getting so frustrated that my creativity is being quashed by these demands - I haven't been able to write anything constructive lately is it time to move on?

   Also you can screen with Google advanced search for free to use even commercially.

   You can get images from Wikimedia Commons, but be sure to read the usage terms for the photo you choose as the don't all offer the same permissions.
   
   A couple of free stock photo sites I know of are stockvault.net and freerangestock.com but there are a lot of other sites that I've never used. Stockvault's licence is for non-commercial use only, so images can't be used in advertising, but they're fine for illustrating a Hub.

   You can get some of the photos from Flickr for free and I believe that even if it is only some there are still photos on Wikipedia which you can use.
   
   Also if you read the Terms and Conditions with the photos I think if you are a Google member you can use their photos. You had better check on that yourself and make your own decision.

      Hint:: write your Hub(s) - maybe use Word or something - after you write then add the photos, etc.

      I agree with you The Examiner-1 the problem is that my 90+ hubs were written before all these QA changes and I now have to change the photo's in most of them (not all thank goodness) - that's where my frustration lies. Much appreciated advice though!

      Then try Wikimedia Commons for photos first. That is where I usually go first for photos before I try elsewhere. I might reword the 'search words' a few times.

   Although others have already mentioned these sources, they are the ones I use: Wikimedia Commons, Flickr Creative Commons, Pixabay, and the Advanced Search on Google. For Advanced Search on Google, go to the bolt on the right side of the Google search page; click on it and go to Advanced Search; it will take you to a screen with several choices, one is "usage rights"; click the drop down to the right of that and then choose "free to use or share, even commercially". You type in what you are searching for and hit Advanced Search, it will take you to results page and you can choose images and find images free to use. An aside, deviantART is a site that has a lot of images that are free to use; you have to look at the user's page to see if they registered their image for Creative Commons, free to share or some rights reserved, etc. If so you can use them but I'd give them credit and a link to their page.

      Thank you that is very helpful - I will soon be ready for round 6 with hubpages QA with my photo's - I do use a lot of my own but some hubs just require a certain subject not always available to hand...

   morguefile.com is a great resource. Almost all of the photos are royalty-free. I use them a lot.

      It is called morguefile because it is where the photographers photos go for their second life, ha ha. Go check it out. I think you will like it.

   I get 85% of my photos (free) at http://www.freedigitalphotos.net They have hundreds and hundreds of photos, all free. They are easy to download. You must agree to the terms of use, and cite the photographer or artist's name and link to the home page of free digital photos. They have almost anything you can imagine. I use them all the time. You don't have to have an account.  It's very user friendly.
   
   Here are some others FreeImages.co.uk http://www.freeimages.co.uk/index.htm
   
   Dreamstime has a section of free images, though somewhat limited. You have to become a member which isn't really a big deal. Once you get the membership set up you can start looking through free images by going to the top of the main page, click on the green tab (looks like a file folder tab) that says categories. One category says free images. Click that and then you will see categories for free images. Not real user friendly, but once you figure it out, it's not too challenging.
   
   StockFreeImages http://www.stockfreeimages.com is very easy to use as well. All you need to do is set up ID and PW. Downloading is easy and they give you the credit line to copy and past on your hubs.
   
   Flickr has some free ones but you have to search hard because many of them you need permission and that can mean waiting.
   
   USA.gov has a vast library of photos and images. Many are public domain. Some are free others are not. http://www.usa.gov/Topics/Graphics.shtml

    Many of my images come from this site: http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/ ; what they don't have I usually end up crafting myself. For best results on your hubs, and to get exactly what you want, it's better to take pictures yourself. Either way, I wish you luck on your further endeavors.
